Where are you located & are you willing to travel?
We are located on Hatteras Island, and we travel anywhere on the Outer Banks. We have a $50 travel fee for Ocracoke and Corolla from May-September.
Mini sessions are only available at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Beach in Buxton and Coquina Beach in Nags Head, across from Bodie Island Lighthouse.
What happens in the event of bad weather?
Please know the weather changes every 10-15 minutes on the Outer Banks. We watch the weather forecast prior to all sessions, and will make the call to postpone a session within an hour of the session. In the event of inclement weather, your session will be rescheduled for the next available session. As a team of 2 photographers, we have a lot of flexibility to reschedule.

The retainer fee for our services is non-refundable. In the event that you are unable to attend your session due to any emergency natural or man-made, including (but not limited to) hurricane evacuation, natural disasters, health emergencies, covid-19 pandemic, etc. your retainer will be transferred to a future session. We do not refund retainers. We recommend trip insurance to cover all unforeseen expenses that you may incur in the event of an emergency.
Can we include more than one family in a session?
Of course! The only session that has a limit on the number of people is "The Twenty." All other sessions are priced based on the number of people in your group.
Will you help us choose the best location for the session?
Absolutely. The beaches on the Outer Banks change throughout the year. We take lighting, tide, location, and wind into consideration when choosing a shoot location. We will work with you to decide the best location for your session.
What should we wear for our session?
We get this question a lot, and I'll be blogging about it before the 2021 season. In the meantime, my suggestion is this: make sure that the clothes are comfortable and everyone likes what they're wearing. Don't have everyone wear the same thing. Express your individuality. Stick with a color theme and choose clothes based on that theme.
Google: Summer Beach Portrait Clothing Ideas, and you'll get a ton of suggestions for color palettes.
It all comes down to this: It's a beach portrait, so be relaxed. Wear what you'd wear to go out to dinner on vacation. Let everyone have a say in what they wear, and don't all dress exactly the same.
What is better the morning or evening session?
