We’re excited to launch our 2017 Summer/Fall Workshop Series. The main focus of the series is to teach our students how to incorporate -rather than exclude- people and the surrounding environment in a scene to the advantage of the photograph. The Outer Banks is a place of stunning natural beauty, and equally valuable are the community and history that surround it. Students will learn how to use camera technique and composition to create timeless photographs that resonate with viewers. These multi-day workshops include instruction and critique at our Buxton Gallery, as well as off-site field-study, individualized projects, 1:1 instruction, community interviews, and model work. Throughout the weekend a selection of student photos will be chosen for an end of workshop slideshow and reception. These student photos will be on display in our Workshop Exhibition at the Gallery January-March 2018.
